DALLAS, TX – October 31, 2016 – The U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland today issued an order dismissing, in full, the Indictment naming Republic National Distributing Company and three of its employees that was originally filed on May 24, 2016.

The Indictment was dismissed on the motion of the U.S. Attorney with the consent of Republic and each of the three individual defendants. Previously, the Court ordered the return to Republic of $50 million that was unlawfully seized by the government at an earlier stage of this case.

Upon issuance of the Court’s order dismissing the case, Republic’s President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Cole stated, “Republic and our three employees violated no law and should never have been charged. We’re certainly happy that the U.S. Attorney in Maryland realized that fact – before the needless expenditure of more time and resources – and decided to drop the case.” Cole added, “This is a good day for Republic and we are grateful to all of our customers, suppliers and employees nationwide who have stood by us through this challenging time.”
